Staunton Harold Sailability Trust:

Staunton Harold provides sailing and waterborne opportunities for disabled people throughout the county, affiliated to the RYA and we follow the pathway they have created.

SHST (Staunton Harold Sailability Trust) is a registered charity operating by agreement with Staunton Harold Sailing Club. It is run by Trustees that are drawn from the club, professionals outside the club and independent supporters.

Following on from our pilot years we are once again offering 6 sessions for up to 24 people and our annual day where numbers are not restricted.

We cater for children in the main with a range of disabilities both physical and mental, we work closely with them, professional organisations, other charities, parents and carers. We also offer carers and parents the opportunity to take to the water to see their children in action.

All sessions must be pre booked and paid in advance, each session costs £3.50 per person, bookings can be made through sailability@shsc.org.uk . If you would like to find out more then please contact us through the email address or find us on twitter @SH_Sailability or on Instagram shsailability

We are seeking funding this year to the value of £20k to purchase hoists and special boats to allow us to promote independent sailing amongst our participants.

2017 has started well with the trust receiving its first funding, Wards recycling have donated up to £2k for the purchase of life jackets, spray tops and volunteers bibs, they have also pledged ongoing support through fundraising for the trust during 2017. The Trust is extremely grateful for their support and look forward to working with them during the year.

The sailing club is also supporting the trust with fundraising, the commodore’s charity ball, bar collections and member donations all being aimed at providing special boats for the trust.

If you would like to donate or raise funds for the trust or get involved as a helper then please contact the trust via email sailability@shsc.org.uk or donate using the link on this page
