Thank you to Lesley and our race team for last Saturday’s 2021 Club Regatta. 11 boats and 12 SUPs (with 20+ enjoying SUP’ing) joined us for what was a scorcher of an event. Very little wind made for interesting racing.
So the order of the day was ‘short races’ with, on some occasions, ‘anything goes’ being allowed. This included paddling – Justin and Emily had a great technique, only equalled by Lynne Munro (who had a paddle!). Fun was the order of the day as Alex not only managed to sail but also found time to power shower Amy with his water pistol.
We did have one capsize but my suspicion is that this was a tactic to keep cool, as temperatures soared!

Well done to everyone who joined us, both our experienced sailors – Becky leading the pack with young Ella providing expert support. Plus our newly qualified sailors, fresh off the RYA Level 1 & 2 course. A big thank you goes to Lynne and Paul for encouraging and guiding our novices round the course in what was hopefully their first of many races.
