Tripartite trophy

21st May – Burton S.C. wins Tripartite Trophy/

Burton S.C. sailor Duncan Adams wins Interclub Event

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for the annual Interclub event between Burton Sailing Club, Swarkestone Sailing Club and Staunton Harold Sailing Club.
What a day of racing! Three races to count and some superb courses. A huge day of sailing for the 40+ boats that took part. Lots of fun as sailors pitted themselves against the conditions and the skills of all the sailors, with many races going on within each race! Unfortunately our six month old computer chose the day of the event to die and our back-up was beset with technical issues. So after a rerun of the results we have a change to the running order of winning boats:-

Winning Boats

Burton S.C.’s Duncan Adams (Phantom) took the top spot on the day with a 3rd, a 4th and a 2nd.
Meanwhile Staunton sailors took 2nd and 3rd place respectively with Burton S.C. in fourth:-
2nd – Andy & Lesley Foskett (Scorpion)
3rd – Paul Williamson (Laser/ ILCA 7)
4th – Tim Bird/Adam Kenney (505)
And a special mention goes to:-
Ella Saunders the youngest sailor to complete all three races sailing for Staunton in a Mirror with Mum Becky.

Burton S.C. wins Trophy

Burton and Staunton were equal on points to win the trophy but, on countback, the trophy goes to Burton Sailing Club. Congratulations and well done to Burton S.C. on winning the Tripartite Trophy  Next year the trophy will be up for grabs again at Swarkestone Sailing Club.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us last weekend at what was an excellent event. Lots of sunshine, fantastic conditions, some tough gusts, with unexpected sudden shifts and wind holes. Thank you to our excellent race and galley teams headed up by Stephen Graham.
