Glorious sunshine for Commodore & Buckley
What a weekend! Torrential rain on Saturday for our courses, followed by glorious sunshine for Sunday’s Commodore & Buckley Cups. The two Cups split the fleets into those boats with a PY greater than 1100 and those with a PY less than 1100. 22 boats took part making for some close racing.
On the water
Sailors quoted that they had been well and truly “Terry-fied”! Thank you to our OOD Terry and his on the water team for a challenging course. Huge wind shifts and strong gusts gave at least one spectacular capsize and some interesting racing. In the Buckley Fleet the top spot was exchanged through the day with a first for Paul Williamson (Laser Radial), then Tim Gray (Solo) then overall winners Graham Watts/ Helen Jacks (Miracle) who won the final race. Meanwhile in the Commodore Fleet Pete Gray/ Rachael Rhodes (Merlin Rocket) took the top spot with two firsts, closely followed by Corey Newton (Supernova) in second overall and Grahame Newton/ Mark Stevens (Fireball) in third overall.
Thank you to our galley team
Another great galley meal from the Foskett team – thank you for a tasty and warming lunch.
