Staunton Harold Sailing Club is committed to minimising the impact of its activities on the sailing environment enjoyed by its members.

Our Commitment

The environment and sustainability group at SHSC are working on a baseline assessment and sustainable development plan to meet our policy aims

The SHSC environmental policy sets out our aims towards achieving carbon neutrality and having a positive impact upon the local environment.

Achievements so far...

✅ Improved energy efficiency and reduced use and cost;

✅ Electrical rewiring and fuse-board installation

✅ LED lighting throughout the club

✅ PIRs in the boathouse 

✅ Solar powered SUP pump; much easier to inflate SUPs. Saves the need for car pumps + saves energy for paddle boarding

✅ Recycling of old tyres
