Good luck to all our sailors at the Notts County Cooler

First race of the East Midlands mini-series today

Good luck to all our sailors taking part in the first leg of the East Midlands mini-series at Notts County Sailing Club today. Saturday forecast notts county coolerIt’s set to be a windy one with the forecast showing gusts of up to 36 knots. On the plus side you won’t have the freezing cold temperatures everyone enjoyed at Notts County for last year’s Notts County Cooler! Temperatures are set to stay above freezing both today and tomorrow so almost tropical after last weekend’s sailing at Rutland.

Last year saw a 1,2 finish for Staunton with Pete Gray/ Rachael Rhodes (Scorpion) in first and Corey Newton (Supernova) in second. Notts County’s Jamie Mawson (RS 600) came third, whilst Tim Cripps and Rebecca Ogden (2000) of Notts County came fourth. Staunton’s Grahame Newton (Laser) and Chris Biglin (Phantom) came fifth and sixth respectively. So a promising preview for this year’s race. Watch our Facebook page for updates over the weekend – check it out and you’ll see that Corey was all packed and ready yesterday. To everyone sailing – have a great weekend out on the water and thank you to all our friends at Notts County for the very warm welcome we know awaits!
