Scorpion / GP14 Open Event

GP14 Inlands and Scorpion Open – two day event 6th/7th April at Staunton Harold Sailing Club

Scorpion end of seasons 2023Two full days of top flight racing are in store for GP14 and Scorpion sailors at the upcoming  GP14 Inlands and Scorpion Silver Tiller Craft Insure Open events at Staunton Harold SailingGP14 23rd April Midland Champs Club.
Subject to weather conditions and the PRO’s decisions over the weekend the plan is to hold a minimum of 7 races over the two days. This will include up to 4 races on Saturday, and 3 on Sunday. Races may be run back to back. And no more than four races will be run on any one day.  This is the perfect opportunity for GP14 sailors to hone their skills and/or size up the opposition GP14s  World Championship due later this year at Welsh National Sailing Academy and Events Centre.


  • Briefing : Saturday 6th April at 11.30
  • First Race on Saturday: At or shortly after 12:00 noon
  • First Race on Sunday: At or shortly after 10:30 a.m

Galley – Evening Meal on Saturday 6th April must be booked and paid for in advance

Galley will be available on both day with hot and cold drinks and snacks/ lunch. Plus an evening meal will be available on Saturday evening this must be booked and paid for in advance (by Wednesday 3rd April latest)at

Where to stay / local information

For people looking to camp – there is limited space adjacent to the clubhouse and motor caravans may use the car park. (This is not serviced except by use of the clubhouse facilities). Please contact us via to let us know if and when you’re coming.
