Learn to sail in 2018

Coming up, we have two  RYA learn to sail courses at the club, one for adults and one for juniors:-

RYA Level 1 & 2 – Adult Learn to Sail

Starting on 21st April, this course will take the complete novice and over a 10 week course train them to sail. The course will run every Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  Students just need to bring a swimsuit, soft soled, closed-toe footwear, a change of clothes, a towel and their enthusiasm! Buoyancy aids, spray tops and wetsuits will be provided.

The course combines both on and off the water sessions. On completion of the course, the successful sailor will be safety conscious, have a basic knowledge of sailing and be capable of sailing without instruction in light winds. Students are taught primarily in RS Visions and Laser 13s – large double handed dinghies ideally suited for training. There may also be opportunity to try single handed sailing in a Laser I.

This course is open to both members and non-members at a cost of £180 plus club membership fee (£75 individual) for non-members.
