What a fantastic Memorial Cup last night – where we honoured those who are no longer with us. We particularly remember founding members Frank Bassett and Mike Childerley who sadly passed away last month. Thirty three boats joined us to celebrate the club that they helped to create. In honour of their memory, OOD, George Crammond decorated the flag pole.
On the water
The sun shone, the wind was light and dropped through the evening, so skill was the order of the evening. Lots of jostling for position went on throughout the race. And it was a thoroughly enjoyable sail for one and all, thanks to the great course, courtesy of George Crammond and his race team. Thank you to everyone who joined us – and congratulations to first placed Peter Gray/ Rachael Rhodes (Scorpion), second spot MJ Gifford and third place Phill Honnor (both Solos). Corey Newton (Supanova) took fourth place.
Thank you to Cora Kenmuir-Hogg for arranging the fish and chip van – there was a great atmosphere after the race with everyone tucking into fish and chips, a drink from the bar and enjoying the post sailing camaraderie.
