National 12 – Derwent Handicap (Saturday 14th), Midland Area Open & Gill Half Model/ Vintage Champs
A group of Stanton sailors switched their normal dinghies for National 12s over the weekend when they went to Trent Valley Sailing Club rent Valley Sailing Club
Grahame Newton and Mark Stevens normally seen together at the front of the fleet in a Fireball, hopped into China Doll pulling in a very impressive second place overall on the Saturday Derwent Handicap.
Meanwhile Staunton’s Tim Gray who’d only popped over to watch the event with wife Wendy, hopped in and took the helm (standing in for Daniil who had to go home and revise for exams) for the Sunday Midland Area Open Meeting & Gill Half Model/Vintage Championship and walked away with a third spot overall.

Gill Streaker Inland Championships
Meanwhile over at Grafham Water, Staunton sailor Nigel Pepperdine enjoyed a full weekend of Streaker dinghy sailing – two days, five races, a top finish of 2nd and a 4th place overall finish.
