Membership Renewal

Details of the Membership Renewal process

Thanks for being part of such a Friendly Community

Your continued support is the reason SHSC is such a successful club and we couldn’t do it without you!

Your Membership will Auto-Renew on January 1st

Your membership is set to automatically renew each year based on your current membership type, registered craft and other add-on purchases.

The fees for 2024 are unchanged from 2020.

Please login and check your membership type, contact details, craft and add-ons before the year end using this link so we can process your renewal efficiently. You can make any changes or additions in the app and this information will be used for renewal.

You can cancel auto-renew or change membership type, craft or manage add-ons at any time.

If you normally pay annually but would prefer to pay in monthly installments please let us know at renewals@shsc.org.uk before January 20th 2024.

If you wish to amend your membership type (for example individual to family) or add-ons (for example boat space or unlimited hire) please do so as soon as possible to ensure that your payment is correct – click here to change

If you wish to change your bank details or cancel your direct debit please email renewals@shsc.org.uk with your request

Payment will be taken around the end of February for annual payment and end of January for monthly instalments (first instalment). Fees will be based on the same membership type and addons (boat park fee, unlimited hire etc) as at the end of 2023. Annual renewals will receive a 5% discount.

If you have any questions or need help with renewal please contact renewals@shsc.org.uk

Thank you for your support and best wishes for the new season.

Your Account details - Password Protected

You can login to your membership account and edit your details anytime. You should create a password when you join but if you forget just choose forgotten password. Make any amendments to your membership or additions and then save. If any payment is required the Club will add this to your D/D and email confirmation. Remember you can manage your account at any time.

Easy Payment - Annual or Monthly Direct Debit

Membership renewal is now easier than ever. If you have paid by Direct Debit before we already have your details and renewal will happen automatically. Payment is by GoCardless Direct Debit with a choice of annual or monthly  payment. If you want to change from annual to monthly or if your bank details have changed please email renewals@shsc.org.uk
Find out more about GoCardless by clicking the link

Annual D/D payment
If you choose annual there is a 5% discount for renewals(direct debit payment before Feb 28th.)

Monthly D/D payment (direct debit payment before 31st January)
If you choose monthly there is no 5% annual D/D discount but your fee is split into 12 monthly instalments and the first direct debit payment must be in January. It is possible to choose monthly direct debit up until 20th January. This allows time for the first instalment to be taken in January. By choosing monthly D/D the member is committing to paying their annual membership over twelve months with no option to cancel early.  In the event of early cancellation the Club can charge the member what they owe plus an admin fee or a re-joining fee of £140 if the person wants to re-join within 12 months, or may decline the option to pay monthly in future.

Book Your Preferred Duty Dates Before 1st March

The duty roster for the coming season is available at DutyMan after the AGM in November. Please choose your preferred duties and dates in DutyMan before 1st March. After this date all duties may be automatically allocated to fill the calendar.

It is a condition of membership that all sailing members perform at least three duties per year and paddleboard members at least one duty. These cover Officer of the Day, Assistant Officer of the Day, Safety boat helm/crew and Galley. Duties are assigned based on experience so the lesser experienced members are not expected to run races. Please note that from 2022 Wednesday and Friday evening duties count as half a duty whilst Saturday and Sunday duties count as a whole duty
