SHSC Juniors

Come along and join our juniors for a variety of fun coaching sessions

Calling all Kids.....

We plan to run a selection of sailing events aimed at our junior/youth sailors – starting with our  Friday Night Sessions and our Improver Race Series/Training– with a stage 3 3day course in June and several mini supported racing series through the year. We hope to add more events throughout 2023 aimed at improving sailing skills, We now have a junior subcommittee looking at developing junior activities and training. Please offer your ideas and support

As in 2023 we plan to offer early season  sessions to kick off the season, on and off the water. We are aware that our sailors and parents will need refreshers on rigging and launching

For youth and junior enquiries please contact us at youth@shsc.org.uk

To start the season off in 2023 there will be an on shore session which we will video for those unable to attend. Please come along if you can.

For Friday Nights we often find juniors and their families are keen to come down to sail and socialise, which is great! These start April 21st.

Please note these are facilitated events. We plan that where possible there will be guidance on hand re rigging and launching with onboard activities where suitable. Parents/guardians are responsible for their children and we hope will assist with supporting all aspects of these sessions. It would be great to see sailing family members on the water sailing and paddleboarding.

For 2023 we have asked once again asked that all cadet members are either part of a family membership or that a responsible linked adult joins as a supporter member. This enables families to help across all aspects of club activities.

We would love to relaunch our more structured

J.C (Junior Club): and provide more formal coaching at times

Relaunch of these more structured sessions will be dependent on instructor and parent support so if you are able to offer this please contact Leonie and the junior committee at  (youth@shsc.org.uk).

Don’t miss out on the 3 racing series and our stage 3 improver junior course
