At SHSC we offer a wide range of Youth and Junior Sailing opportunities

We are proud to have a very active able junior and youth fleet, I am sure you will have seen them in action. As well as racing and cruising options we also have opportunities for Juniors to continue their learning via play sailing at Junior Club, skills sessions and race training days

Boat Hire

We have 10 Optibats, 6 Toppers, 2 RS Fevas and 2 Teras that club members can hire until you are able to buy a boat. We now offer an annual unlimited boat hire option

Hire boats include the use of a buoyancy aid but you would be expected to have your own sailing clothing e.g. Wet suit, Spray top etc

Junior/Youth Racing

"Can the kids join in club racing?."

Juniors are welcome to compete in any of the racing series at the club once they are competent sailors and there are trophies or prizes for best placed under 16 in most event series. Cruising is welcomed at any time when safety is provided with ‘cruising only’ sessions on  Friday evenings (see the calendar for more details). Note our Friday Night Club provides free coaching for juniors and a fun on the water session for younger sailors.
