Adult Improver (Rookie Club)

These FREE sessions are designed to help build the confidence and skills of our recently qualified and improving sailors.

Under the guidance of a team of instructors and experienced club sailors, you will be able to develop your sailing abilities in a supportive and fun environment. Following on immediately after our training courses, the focus is on developing boat handling skills and confidence in the Vision double-handers that you will have learnt in during the courses The sessions are tailored to the individuals and helping you to progress at your own pace. 

For those interested in single-handed sailing, there is also an opportunity to try this in the club's Topper or Pico boats with the support of the training team.

We also include an introduction to racing so that you finish Rookie Club feeling confident to join club races as well as being happy to just come down to the club and have a sail whenever the club is open

For 2026 sessions we have 8 sessions planned, running from 0900 to 1200:

Sat 9 May, Sat 16 May, Sat 30 May & Sat 6 Jun

Sat 26 Sep, Sat 3 Oct, Sat 10 Oct, Sat 17 Oct

There is no charge or boat hire fees for Rookie Club sessions.
