GET KIDS INVOLVED IN SAILING
This healthy outdoor sport is great fun and helps build confidence and friendships as well as a fantastic new skill
RYA TRAINING COURSES
These RYA courses take place over 4 days, covering the Stages 1 and 2 syllabus. They are open to members and non-members alike.
Typically 6-12 juniors per course are taught in the club optimists and toppers single handed boats that have proved popular with junior sailors. Wetsuits, buoyancy aids and spray tops are provided for the duration of the course.
The courses are great fun and once you have learnt the basics you can join lots of other Junior/Youth specific events where you can continue to improve your skills.
We have a high number of club boats and are able to offer both daily and annual boat hire for suitably qualified sailors. Our hire policy asks that juniors have a Stage 3 qualification to hire the RS Tera or RS Feva and a Stage 2 qualification for Optibats and Toppers.
Our Junior courses are aimed at teaching 8 to 16 year olds to sail. Those aged 16 and over are welcome to join the adult courses.
Becky, our junior lead is also running some junior training start racing mornings-20th April, 4th May and 11th May before the Spring Junior Series of races in the afternoon
Then further start racing training July 14th especially for those finishing Course C1 before the summer junior race series
In the autumn start racing/stage 3/4 Aug 31st, Sep 14th and Sept 28th especially aimed at Course C2 graduates linking with the autumn junior race series
