It was a Staunton 2,3,4 and more at the Fireball Spring Champs (12th/13th April)

Congratulations to all the Staunton sailors who took part in the UK Fireball Class Spring Champs at Draycote Water Sailing Club over the weekend.

It was close sailing, with the first four boats finishing just one point, behind each other!

Well done to overall winners DJ Edwards and Vyv Townend (Bough Beech SC) who finished on 9 points with two 1sts, a 2nd and a 5th.

Staunton sailors then took 2nd, 3rd and 4th:-

2nd Place
Simon Forbes crewing for Bough Beech SC's Paul Cullen, came finished on 10 points, with two 1sts, a 3rd and a 5th.

3rd Place
Tom Gillard/ Shandy came third - finishing on 11 points.

4th Place
Peter Gray/ Rich Pepperdine came fourth - finishing on 12 points with a first place finish, in Race 2.

Other notable Staunton results include:-

Dave Hall/ Rachael Gray who finished 13th (with a standout 3rd place, in Race 5),
and,
Imogen Wade (Draycote SC) and Staunton's Tim Saunders ,who finished 21st (with an 11th place finish in Race 4).

The weekend saw 36 boats competing in what was not just a fantastic regatta, but an early opportunity to test out the water, ahead of the 2025 Fireball World Championships, in August at Lake Garda. Find out more here:
