Great result for Stauntons Pete Gray at Grafham Water SC

2026 Hartley Boats Streaker Inland Championship Grafham Water Sailing Club

Only the hardy sailors ventured out in what can only be described as survival conditions, with the wind at full welly for this two-day event!

Forty boats were signed up, but five chose not to go out — including Stauntons Alan Bennett, who decided to keep both his boat and himself intact, enjoying the racing from the clubhouse instead!

Stauntons Pete Gray, who likes a bit of wind, put in a fantastic performance across all six races. He finished in the top five in every race, with a bullet, two seconds and two fourths among his counting results.

This saw Pete finish just five points behind the overall winner, Martin Penty (Beaver SC), and an impressive 10 points ahead of third-placed finisher Phil Priestley (Yorkshire Dales SC).

A fantastic result for Pete — congratulations!
