Mirror National Championship 2026 at Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club - top half finish for Staunton Sailors

Well done to Becky & Ella who finished a solid 16th (out of 45 competitors) scoring in the teens throughout the Championship. With 45 teams and a huge amount of talent taking part, this was a great result in really challenging conditions. Crew Ella said: it was windy, crazy windy. The toughest Mirror sailing I have ever done (my arms even ached a little bit!).

After a slow start we DNCd the first race as the mainsail was beginning to be pulled out of the mast track on the way out to the start. We never expected an inland water to be so windy!

Mum, Becky, added The only other Nationals that I have done inland was the Miracles in 2003, and that only had wind on the lay day!
