Congrats to our new Club Champions - Jame & Hannah!

A reduced but determined fleet of 19 boats took to the water for this years Club Champs on Sunday 31st August, despite some rather optimistic weather forecasts! Originally expecting 20 gusting 31 knots, the breeze was officially downgraded to 15 gusting 24… although anyone who sailed might question that! Several recorded 15mph+ just in the warm-up and that was before the racing began.

Needless to say, no SUPs ventured out and rightly so. Standing up wouldve been… ambitious!

Results & Highlights:

Overall Winners Hannah & Jamie (RS200) with a 1st and 2nd to count. They took home both the Overall Trophy and the First Lady Shield well done!

Second Place Tim & Aileen (L2K) with two solid 2nd-place finishes, earning the Slow Fleet and Veterans trophies.

Third Place Steve & Charlotte (Scorpion), showing great teamwork throughout.

Race 2 Winners Zac & Amy, who had a delayed start in Race 1 due to boat issues and then an early swim in Race 3!

And, of course, big cheers for all the sailors who took part, and to everyone who rushed to the shoreline to help boats get back to shore and up the beach at the end of the racing - you were much appreciated - thank you!

Despite the breeze, there were big smiles and bigger banter at the prizegiving plenty of clapping, cheering, and well-deserved trophies (and treats) for all who stayed on.
