After an epic Big Breakfast (thank you to our chefs), our intrepid revellers from Saturdays Biggest Summer Party rallied, dusted themselves off, and got ready to hit the water once more.

Our OOD Rachael Gray, ably supported by AOD Dominic Findlow, ran a jam-packed day of racing. The morning kicked off with a 75-minute Pursuit Race, followed by two Handicap Races after lunch. It was a proper test of stamina for our sailors still feeling the after effects of the previous days celebrations both on and off the water.

Race 2 was a clear favourite, especially for our spinnaker sailors, thanks to a high octane, spinnaker leg down the far shore of the reservoir.

As the sun began to set, the crowd gathered in the bar for the all-important prize giving. With categories celebrating everything from skill to spirit (and the occasional sore head), here are our well-deserved winners:

Main Results

  • Craig Williamson (ILCA 7) Two bullets to count. Superb sailing
  • Grahame Newton (Aero 7) Net 4 points and first over 60
  • Peter Gray and Rich Pepperdine (Fireball) Also on 4 points, just edged out on countback

Other Honours

  • Most Capsizes Mick Papp (ILCA 7)
  • 10th Place Hannah and Jamie Barker (RS200)
  • 20th Place George Crammond (Europe)
  • First Married Couple Nigel and Di (RS200)
  • Mid Fleet Hero Paul Williamson (Aero 5)
  • Best Crew Ella (Mirror)
  • Worst Hangover Stephen Graham (Solo)
  • Most Consistent Lawrence Hayward and Ann Nugent (RS200)
  • Best Dressed Graham Watts and Helen Jacks (Miracle)
  • Best 70 Plus Sailors Tim and Aileen (L2K)
  • Best Optimist Alex

Huge congratulations to all our sailors and SUPers, and the biggest thank you to our fantastic race team. Without you, none of this would be possible.

A special thank you also to Charnwood Brewery and The Chocolate Smiths for their brilliant support throughout the weekend.

Heres to another amazing 50 years on the water:)
