Staunton Harold Open Regatta 2nd/ 3rd May and Miracle Open Weekend!

What a fabulous weekend and a huge thank you to everyone who joined us! 

Regatta Saturday

Sailors were welcomed by very light winds and beautiful sunshine. Shifty changing winds led to challenging conditions for the sprint races. The target of 5 races was met and Lara led the field sailing her Byte 2 with Mick Papp 2nd and Andy and Lesley 3rd.
Meanwhile our newly formed Mirror Fleet took to the water after rigging top tips on shore. It was fantastic to see 8 mirrors and various helms/crews participating. The most fearless being Freddie and Harper aged 18m. After a picnic lunch off they went on an adventure complete with Quidditch ball chasing. All fabulous fun. Regatta Sunday

Sailors were thrilled to awake a steady 8-10knts NW. The race team ran a superb slick event coordinating the Miracle Open 3 races with 7 varied windward/leeward races for club sailors. 3,2,1 starts with 14-25 min races and really enjoyed by all of us. Results were extremely close, decided by seconds. The Laser fleet being particularly competitive!
